Summer vacation

Curly no more

Curly is no longer curly!

He has begged for MONTHS to have his hair buzzed. We have cut it shorter and shorter. Finally, he got a full buzz. I'm heartbroken but his big, beautiful, brown eyes are amazing to look into!  And he's happy. That's important. 

Back to school

It's a new era in our house. Both BigBoy and Curly are in school full time-3rd and kinder. BooBear is in 3 day preschool and I have our house all to myself today. Quiet. Glorious quiet. In the house, the car. Alone. All alone. I love it!!!

Dirt

The "dirt shirt" has long been a favorite article of clothing in our house. BooBear has the only remaining one. Apparently he took it literally today......
The most annoying part is that my last load of darks was already in the washer. Another load for another day.

I have been reading a great book about youth entitlement and was struck by how much I do for our boys. Mainly it is faster and easier for me to just do things around the house. Often, I don't want to listen to the complaints. But I realized I am doing them, future roommates and future wives a huge disservice.
Here we go ....
Together we tackled the upstairs. BigBoy helped the younger two make the beds. He then picked up toys (Legos) and vacuumed. Curly picked up his room then cleaned both bathrooms. BooBear was on clean floor duty. We all put away laundry.

Here's the kicker.... They did it with happy hearts and practically beamed when I bragged on their great work and good attitudes to daddy. They also earned some screen time. Wins all around!!!
