Happy Easter!

Many hands ....

I have been reading a great book about youth entitlement and was struck by how much I do for our boys. Mainly it is faster and easier for me to just do things around the house. Often, I don't want to listen to the complaints. But I realized I am doing them, future roommates and future wives a huge disservice.
Here we go ....
Together we tackled the upstairs. BigBoy helped the younger two make the beds. He then picked up toys (Legos) and vacuumed. Curly picked up his room then cleaned both bathrooms. BooBear was on clean floor duty. We all put away laundry.

Here's the kicker.... They did it with happy hearts and practically beamed when I bragged on their great work and good attitudes to daddy. They also earned some screen time. Wins all around!!!

Merry Christmas

Waiting patiently for little brothers to wake up. They are sleeping much later than normal AND there is a loud thunderstorm happening outside. How are they still sleeping??? :)

Curly

This morning, Curly asked me if when he's 6, if his hair won't be curly anymore. When I told him that his hair would always be curly, he cried. He doesn't want curly hair any more. Break my curly-hair loving' heart.

His hair is beautiful. We're talking great ringlets. Great natural highlights.

He's the only one of our boys that has curly hair. My curly hair. I remember hating my hair as a kid. I'll be honest.... Last week I hated my hair in the humidity.

I knew this day would come. I didn't expect it from our barely-5-year old.

Building

We are building a new house. It has been such a long time coming, but things are going and progress is finally happening. Some proof.....

Summer

I love summer! We are half way through this summer.
I love having my boys around all day!
We are having a blast around here!

I'll be honest. There are moments I long for a bit of quiet. Fewer messes. More alone time.

But, I am not ready for making daily lunches in the early morning hours. Doing nightly homework and reading library books (I like to pick out our books). Strict bedtimes, carpool lines and school uniforms can all wait a little longer.

Only 10 more summers left for BigBoy at home. It's going by WAY too fast!!!

Best day!

On the way to pick up Curly for our weekly 'Mommy-Curly' date, I picked up his best friend as a surprise. We had 'old McDonald's farm' for lunch. Then, we headed to Jumpstreet to check it out for Curly's 5th birthday party. I think it was a hit!

Tonight Daddy is taking Curly and BooBear to a birthday party. So, BigBoy and I get to have a rare date! Two dates in one day with two of my favorite boys??? How lucky can one girl get????
